'it' is ambiguous in A & B. In D & E, the modifier modifies the 'results' not the profits, as it should.

C for me.

remove the middlemen from the sentence i.e of the company cost cutting measures are evident in its profits...

so now the sentence becomes...

The results which have increased.........

results is the subject so the correct verb which follows is HAVE

which have..here, which is refering to profits which is plural..results are not increased by 5 percent, its the profits which have been increased..

do you mean why not just increased? It would have been increased since we don't know the exact time in which the speaker said that.

C is the only one without grammatical mistakes.

Had to make call between A and C.

Why not 'A' becuase both the actions "5 % profits" and "after fell over in last 2 years" happened in the past.

Should not we use the simple past tense in this case?

'll appreciate the clarification.

I agree that perhaps the best answer choice would have been with simple past;however you don't have that option, so you have to pick the best answer choice among the options you have. The problem with A is that "it" is supposed to refer to "profits" which is plural.

To express the sequence of events we have used the tense in that way.
The rise in the profits after falling for two years.
