There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I just tried the two GMATPrep tests over the last couple of days:
1st attempt - 670 (Q - 42, V - 40) 16Q mistakes and 13V mistakes 2nd attempt - 680 (Q - 48, V - 35) 13Q mistakes and 14V mistakes
Now here is what i really found strange - can those small differentials in mistakes make such a huge difference in the Q&V subscores? Obviously the overall score was similar which makes sense, but I cant follow the reasoning with the subscores.
Can someone shed some light on this. Thanks ... now back to trying to figure out this fiasco!!!
Yes, I dont understand those things, too. Is that if we get wrong at the very first questions, says from 1-10, we will kill our scores? I always spend alot of time doing my best at the first 10 questions -- but actually I dont know whether doing so is good or bad..
However, good luck to you they are not bad scores. Keep practicing!
My question becomes I missed less problems on that on a Princeton Review CAT, even getting the first 9 questions on Q right, and still didn't get near 700...
2 commonly mentioned assumptions ('coz no one knows exactly how the algo works, except those write it =)) 1. Not all of ur answers are counted (some are experimental qsns) 2. Yah they say that the 1st 10 qsns determine the larger swing in ur mark, BUT if after that u keep failing, it won't help either
