Agree that GMATPrep is usually accurate...

Agree.

Hey lhotse, have you actually been to the lhotse face?

Cause if so, thats a heckuva application essay :)

edit:

Moved thread to GMAT forum, as it is the more appropriate place... GMAT Experience is post-actual exam.

You know, Im strugglin to decide.

Kellogg
Wharton
Harvard
MIT Sloan
Columbia

Was also considering Darden, but I think Ive eliminated it. Haas has some large pull but Id rather be east coast. Chicago GSB doesnt really make much sense long term, and would be a tough sell (Im not finance). Yale and Georgetown seem like two reasonable "backup" choices.

Part of the difficulty is that the list is too big... I cant ask my boss for ten or twelve letters of recs. I don't even think I can complete that many applications. How many places are you applying? I'm trying to narrow the list to 5, but having trouble. Problem is, KGSM, Wharton and Harvard need to be on that list, but I also need backups further down the list, like Georgetown or Yale in case I dont get into the ultra-elite list. However, it seems silly to pick something from the bottom of the top 30 and the top 5 as my list - what about top 10 or top 20? But then you are back up to 6 or 7 apps unless I drop KGSM or Wharton or Harvard. The only one on that list I'd consider dropping would be Wharton (free up space for another school like columbia)

Below my list of "Yes apply" "No" or "?"

# School Apply
1 Northwestern Yes
2 Chicago No
3 Wharton (Philadelphia, PA) Yes
4 Stanford (California) No
5 Harvard (Boston) Yes
6 Michigan (Ann Arbor) No
7 Cornell (Ithaca) No
8 Columbia (New York) Yes
9 MIT (Cambridge, MA) Yes
10 Dartmouth (Hanover, NH) No
11 Duke (Durham, NC) No
12 Virginia (Charlottesville, VA) No
13 NYU ?
14 UCLA No
15 CMU (Pittsburgh, PA) ?
16 UNC (Chapel Hill, NC) ?
17 UC Berkeley No
18 Indiana No
19 Texas - Austin No
20 Emory (Atlanta, GA) No
21 Purdue (Lafayete, IN) No
22 Yale (New Haven, CT) Yes
23 Washington U (St Louis, MO) No
24 Notre Dame (Notre Dame, IN) No
25 Georgetown Yes

Where are you applying?
