Hey Guys,
Took my first full-length practice test, the GMATPrep Test 1 today(690- Q47 and V38) and was quite surprised to see the results after reviewing them:
Quant(Q47): I got a high score but far too many questions incorrect, and that too especially in the beginning:
- In the first 10 questions, got 5/10 correct.
- In the first 15 questions, got 7/15 correct.
- Got the last 3 questions wrong in a row.
Add to this the fact that I got 3 questions wrong in a row thrice (in the first 15 itself!!!
).I feel like my Quant scaled score might be inflated: can someone please provide a perspective on this?
Verbal (V38): I was expecting a far higher score for Verbal, probably in the V42-V45 range as this has been my forte, but the following could have been my undoing:
- In the first 10 questions, got 6/10 correct.
- In the first 15 questions, got 10/15 correct.
- Got rushed on the last couple of questions and got 3 of them wrong.
I realize and know how important it is to get as many of the first 10 questions correct for BOTH Quant and Verbal (thanks to
Bunuel,
bb and
dabral): I guess the questions reached such a level of difficulty I just couldn't get them right. Any advice on how to get more of the first 10 and 15 questions correct?
And thank you
dabral for recommending that I take a GMATPrep test ASAP (on your website): strange things can and do happen, as they did above!
Any and all insight is very much appreciated!
Thanks a ton!
