My first post, woo hoo!
I am very new & have already spent a couple of hours wandering around, but I don't see info on my particular question, please forgive me if I missed it.
I can't quite figure out how to "use" the GMATPrep free software? I mean, I took a practice test. I reviewed all the questions and gathered data on what types of problems there were & how I did to determine my weak points. Decided to start with IR (because that was my lowest percentage, and I had not yet read bb's advice to start with Quant), and ran through 5 practice questions. But the questions had all appeared on the practice test. So I don't get it. Why would I practice on questions I have already seen? And I certainly wouldn't want to practice on them before the test, as that would skew my test results and timing. So now I am not sure how to use this software, and have a series of inter-related questions:
I noticed there are explanations to the answers when you are answering practice questions. But they are the same questions that appear on the practice test, so is there any way to see these answers when you are reviewing your test?
Does this mean my 2nd practice test will be a re-hashing of some/all of the previously seen material?
If I add the Question Pack, will this create totally new tests, or will it simply expand the question pool, so that I still end up with questions I have seen before?
And, again, just because this is buried in the beginning paragraph - Do I want to use the practice question area? I don't want to preview questions that may appear on a practice test, so maybe I should do them afterwards? It would be helpful to review the particular questions I had difficulty with, but considering the large percent of questions I already 'know', I wonder if it isn't a waste of time.
