seems like a simple ? but im getting the wrong answer

If so, this is how I got it:

Since 9 is odd and 6 is even:
9(3) x 6(1/2) = 27 x 3, and since you multiply anything in a box that's odd by 3, the answer is 27.

I can't access the GMAT prep software because I'm on a Mac... is that the answer that's given?

yeah 27 is correct. I left out a step at the end. 81= "box"27, got it thanks!
