HI everyone,
I am just frustrated with the whole verbal part of gmat. I think i have studied the rules form all the resources i have - namely - manhattan sentence correction, kaplan and OG but still im not doing so well on the practice tests. I usually get like 10-14 verbal questions wrong.
Can anyone please suggest what I should be doing or how you approach the verbal (mainly the sentence correction). Also for the SC, sometimes it feels like when i use the grammar rules, i end up selecting the wrong answer.

you have to figure this out pretty much on your own...
what is the reason for getting ?s wrong?
is it timing?
is it that you don't remember the rules for SC?
is it the fact that you get stuck on a ? and refuse to move on?
is it CR logic?
how much time you spend on average per ?
are you uncomfortable reading from computer screen?
...
the list goes on...
practice here IMO is the only way to go, of course, considering that you studied (and remembered
) the basics... forum is also very helpful for CRs and SCs... it forces you to go back to your notes again and again (it helps only when you explain your answers 
) it might take you a while to get used to it, but if you explicitly say/think about the answer choice you're most likely to remember it and get it right when you see it again.
another thing that has been helpful, is when you practice, read the explanations and make sure you understand them (OG explanations)... you can learn a lot from those.
again, forcing yourself to deal with verbal on a daily basis and reading from the screen are likely to help... but beware... it isn't an easy effort... it took me about 2 months to see any increase in verbal part.

10-14 wrong ? Not bad at all compared to me.. Few things i would recommend..:
1. As i realise, gmat is all abt recognising patterns and remembering them.. The more one practices, the quicker he/she recognises the patterns.. So learning from mistakes is very important..And able to recognise the same pattern in different qn..
2. The trick in gmat would be to manage time..For most of the indians, this is the challenge.. After doing a lot of research i come to the deadlines for timings..
1.SC- 75 seconds avg,150 seconds max..
2.CR - 100 seconds to 150 seconds max.
3.RC strategy: 12,10,8,6 minutes for 4 RCs. Depending on time, i would cut it to 12,10,6 and 6.
I am not sure how these will work out..
