These are apples and oranges we are comparing.... you are asking if you should date a 40-year old man or a 20-year old woman....

Have you decided if you want to have a full-time or a part-time experience? That’s a lot more important and critical than the program in this case. That’s really the main question here that puts all things into perspective and resolves the dilemma.

The main healthcare programs are usually Fuqua/ Owen/ UNC. Emory playa in the healthcare space but I don’t usually hear much about their healthcare program especially the evening one.

abhimahna - you have any input on the Evening program and healthcare for someone with 2 years of WE?

Hey mdtomba ,

I am not sure about the evening program especially in Healthcare. But Emory has a very strong healthcare presence. I have one solution for you though. Fill this form with your details and queries. Emory is very heavy on connecting current students with prospective applicants. Once you submit the form, they will match you with the respective student and then you can ask all the questions you have.

Good luck!

Yes. But you can work while at Emory which generates income.... at the same time you are sharing your time between a job, MBA, and recruiting.

I guess, but would pursuing a full time at Owen whilst telecommuting part time be hard? I don't plan to leave my job no matter what School I choose. I also got into Chicago Booth for evening pat time - but I Know there isn't much of a healthcare program they have. Still waiting on Duke.

FT MBA is NOT designed... Let me rephrase that :-) FT MBA Was not designed as something you would combine with a full-time job or even a part-time job. I have managed to keep a part-time job during both years of my MBA because I was broke.... But these were student level jobs and not executive or managerial type of positions. I ended up quitting my job the second year actually because I realized I was trading off recruiting for pretty low income and while it was nice to be making some money, it was keeping me from recruiting successfully. Two or three weeks after I quit, I got an offer.

If you’re planning to stay employed, I would recommend the PT or Weekend program while working full time. Otherwise there is a very high risk you’ll be sabotaging your job and your MBA experience.

If you don't mind, can I ask why consider booth? It's not that great of a healthcare program from what I have read. Also, my future goals include being apart of the executive board for hospitals or along those lines.

Because, generally speaking, Booth is a better, more rigorous program.

I agree with BB ... see his comment above.

Is Booth a big player in the healthcare industry? or does that not matter? I am just trying to orient my MBA journey more towards healthcare and future job opportunities. Booth doesn't seem to have a variety of healthcare courses like Owen. but the reputation precedes itself for Booth I guess. just confusing decision to make :(
