Good GMAT and work experience are good enough for Ivy League

Question

I am 22 years old. I passed from college in 2015 with a computer engineering degree. Right from the start i knew computer is not my kind of job. I did two internships though, one on Dell other in Wipro. I just wanted a degree. My GPA wasn't great either, you could say it was around 3 or 3.1. So when i got out I started my own business. I took some money from my dad and also took a loan. It has been one year and I am doing pretty good. In terms of dollars, my turnover was 350 grands and a profit of 50 grands. I hope to double the profit next year. but the problem is all the work i am doing is Mining related, as my father is also in the business, so it was a great help. I am the managing director of the company along with my dad as a partner. I have all the official documents showing my tax returns, bank loans, etc.
I am planning on getting an MBA from the United States in Finance or International managements, and get a job there. I have already started preparing for GMAT and i can expect a score of around 720-750.
I think I am doing everything right. But I suppose my past experience might be a problem like choosing a computer course and the low GPA. I am working hard on my English and I can write a great essay too. with all that said, do you think i have good chance of landing into one of the America's top 10 schoools. And also I can get my father's name off the directors of the firm, if that is needed.
And can i expect a financial aid or scholarship?

Hi asyadav412 - wasn't sure if your post title was a statement or a question. :-)

Now that we read your post we see that it was a question so we'll try to answer it! There's a lot of moving parts to an MBA application and you actually threw a whole lot of info out there in your post - which is good, but we can't actually respond to everything in this limited format of a forum reply. So what we'll say is this: The GPA does count for quite a bit, particularly if you graduated recently. If your marks truly translate to a 3.1 or so on the U.S. 4.0 system then you might be OK but you should try to get verification of how they will actually be converted Your entrepreneurial experience certainly could be interesting for the adcoms to know about, it sounds like you've had some great success at an early age, which is impressive. The stories you present in your essays need to convey the details of your leadership and accomplishments. It appears that you have some good material to work with in that sense. The biggest question mark we have for you is in the comment about having your father's name removed from something. If we understand what you're saying - which maybe we don't - it sounds like you would be deceiving the schools about you/your father's relationship with the company. This raises big red flags. It unethical, and you would almost definitely be found out. The schools do background checks on candidates before finalizing an admission. This would backfire on you - plus, it is unnecessary. Maybe we've misunderstood what we meant but in case we didn't then please just be very careful about every step you take. The schools are interested in admitting honorable people who make good choices and will help society in the long run and they screen for qualities like ethics and trust. Finally: We're guessing that you're coming from India or Asia - if so you have some challenges as part of an oversubscribed candidate pool, and you also shouldn't expect to receive much if any scholarship funds, particularly given the low GPA. Many schools do have financial aid packages (loans) but it's never a good idea to strategize applications around getting free money for school Hopefully you don't take this the wrong way! All we're saying is that it's a competitive process and that the MBA has a great ROI whether you end up paying the whole amount yourself or not. It sounds like you've got some good stuff to work with. We actually had a bunch more things come up as we read your post but we've gone on long enough so we'll end it now. :-)
