Hi There!
Long time lurker but decided to make an account to ask a question that I didn't see answered elsewhere (if I'm mistaken, please let me know!)
I got a score of 740 in my GMAT that I took this week (Q49, V42), which was in keeping with all the practice tests that I did (range of 740-760). However, the lowest practice IR score that I ever got was a 7, and I got a 4 in my actual GMAT which is 37th %ile.
I'm in the market research / consulting industry, graduated from a top-30 US university with Magna cum laude in engineering with 4+ years of job experience, directly manage two people, and plan to mostly apply to top-8 programs.
Should I consider retaking the test? Will this IR score hurt me? My daily job involves analysis and synthesis of large amounts of data so this score isn't really correlated to my actual work performance, and I could have my recommenders talk about this in their recos to mitigate the impact. However, I'm worried that this may not be enough.
