Boybread5,

It’s clear from your post that you’ve put in significant effort and dedication to your GMAT preparation, and it’s important to acknowledge that

Based on what you’ve shared, anxiety and test-day factors definitely played a role in your score, and you have every reason to believe that you can achieve a 705+—especially considering your prior practice test performances and the fact that you’ve completed TTP.

Walking into the exam with confidence will be key. Trust in the work you’ve done and focus on staying calm and composed on test day. Your performance on practice exams, combined with your deep preparation, indicates that you have the skills needed to succeed. You’ve identified areas to tweak, such as avoiding overexertion before the test and reconsidering your section order, which will only help further. With these adjustments and the foundation you’ve built, you’re in a great position to bounce back and achieve your goal.

If you need any additional advice, please contact us on live chat. We’ve got your back!

I took my GMAT Focus exam yesterday evening at 5:30 PM. I honestly didn't want to take it this late in the day, but I rescheduled my exam that was previously on Saturday and was trying to schedule the earliest possible schedule that aligned with work.
Hi boybread5,

1. You already know this, but (since you're not at your best in the evening) you should choose a different time for your next appointment. Personally, I always go for 8 or 9 AM.

2. Your official practice test scores indicate you're almost certainly capable of getting a better score. Maybe you just need to take the test again.

3. Again, going for a "much longer and intense" run just before your GMAT may not have been the best idea. :)

4. Many test takers have coffee at the centre, so I'm not sure why your proctor told you that only water is allowed (however, mba.com says "Food, drink, and candy are not allowed unless expressly pre-authorized as an accommodation.").

5. 2 noteboards are not allowed. I'm not sure why your tutor said that they are, but if I'd advise you to go in expecting 1 noteboard and 2 markers.

All the best for the retake.
