Hi,
I am trying to apply for top 10 B Schools. GMAT : 770 ( V46 , Q49 ).

I have done Bachelor of Engg. ( Comp. Engg. ) from India, and my college doesn't give GPA Ratings.

I was topper in my college ( Final Year Rank : 1 , Overall Rank 2 ) , Percentage for Graduation 78 %.

Can you please tell me how can I convert this to GPA.

I assume we cannot go by a straight conversion of Percentage to GPA, as different colleges might have different percentage scales.

Hi Hjort,

My Comp Engg Branch had 40 people,

Overall for my year of passout, for all branches of engg., may be 300 - 350

Thanks and please let me know how to calculate GPA.

Based on your rank, it would probably be treated as roughly in the high 3's. Of course, there is really little need to convert grades- schools are comfortable with most grading systems.

Agree with Hjort here.
Normally the schools will even tell you to keep imperatively the original grading system
