I graduated in the top 3% of my undergraduate class from a fairly reputed University in my country. To be exact, my GPA is 8.31/10 which translates directly to a 83.1% score as per my University's grading system. Peers are telling me this is too low for a shot at LBS MiM and other programs that consider undergraduate GPA as an important criteria.

83% is not a low score by any standards. But yes, it is not as high as 90+ scores. However, with a good profile and gmat score and interview, you can easily make up for this minute difference in scores.

Best of luck

Hello AspirantSC,

This doesn't appear to be a low score; however, it depends on your standing in class (top 20%, top 30%, etc).

Good luck!

Hello AspirantSC,

I'm not sure who is telling you that an 8.31 is too low a GPA for the MIM at LBS. Your GPA is competitive for the program, and although South Asian students and some other demographics might have more competitive GPAs than you, your GPA is more than sufficient. You should also remember that it is only one aspect of your overall application. Scoring very well on the GMAT is a way you can easily boost your academic profile, and if you match that with a stellar application, then the LBS MIM is definitely within reach for you.

Don't let people dissuade you otherwise,

Hadi
