For someone who has prepared for GMAT for a few months and haven't touched GRE, what are the pros and cons of GMAT vs GRE test. How much preparation time is required for GRE (Q80 percentile,v80 percentile), assuming one is currently at 70 percentile in GMAT Quant and 80 percentile in GMAT verbal?

Hey, I dont think that you will need any time to keep your quant score but in my own experience, you arent going to be able to walk over into gre and get that same verbal score. There is a really heavy focus on vocabulary and it is time consuming to memorize new words so youll need at least 3-4 weeks just to learn new words (unless youre really great at memorization!)
Id recommend you take the free practice test on the ets site and see how you do !

Hi mgmat2019,

Do you also plan to take the GMAT?

hey, yes I do since I have been studying for it since jan and only decided to write gre because of the online whiteboard. I am really put off by the whiteboard tool

Gotcha. Keep in mind though that the major benefit of the online GMAT is that you don't actually have to submit the online GMAT score to schools unless you want to. So, essentially it’s a free crack at the GMAT.
