I took the GRE a month back and scored 339/340.
I thought I did really well on the AWA(I have good writing skills) but scored only a 4.0.
Based on the Percentile, 4.0 on the GRE AWA (60th percentile) seems comparable to a 5.0 on the GMAT (53rd percentile).
But I notice that the average GRE Scores at the top 10 schools (those who report them) are greater than 4.5.
I am aiming for the M7 Schools + Yale.
Should I try a AWA rescore? Does anyone have an idea of how important the GRE AWA is?
(I understand that the GMAT AWA is not as important as the GMAT Total but then schools don't report the GMAT AWA on their websites. They do report GRE AWA!!)

Hi,

yes, GRE AWA is considered more than AWA in the GMAT.

See here on our sibling board for improvements. Ask if you need further assistance.

I don't think you'll be penalized for your AWA score. That said, get in touch with your target schools and ask them directly (you can also check with the consultants here).

Also, congrats on the excellent score, and all the best for the applications process
