I wholeheartedly agree with the previous post. You need to clear this up. You can't just let that slide because of a glitch.

Did they offer a reason why? Was there some concern about possible illegal activity? If not, they can likely restore your score. They have tremendous security measures in place from cameras to identification requirements. Why should that not protect you too?

Good luck. Keep us posted as to how that unfolds.

Hi thanks for your post. But the reason they have mentioned for score cancellation is similarity in AWS answer. I think it's because I had read the Aws prompt before during practice and answer in gre might be somewhat similar to me practice one.
I have obviously appealed the decision but am not optimistic based on similar situations happened in the past to other folks.

If the cancellation does in fact stay, then yes, I would reach out to the AdCom and let them know that due to very unusual circumstances they should only consider your GMAT score. I believe you have to do that because if you are accepted they will ask for the official GRE score report. If you can't produce that, you could lose your spot by having misrepresented your profile even if not done purposely.

Do not do this, however, until you have confirmation that the GRE score is officially canceled. To answer your earlier question - no - this clarification will not affect your chances. Thank goodness you have a GMAT score!

Hi
I took both GRE and GMAT exams and submitted my college Apps with unofficial scores from both. I got my GMAT result and submitted an official score for the same.

But I recently came to know that my GRE score got cancelled. So my question is that in the college App I have mentioned that I have taken both GRE and GMAT and now obviously have scored only on GMAT, will this hurt my chances? Should I approach the college and inform them that I do not have a GRE score anymore and that they should only consider my GMAT score?

Hello mbahunter1299,

If the score has actually gotten canceled and it wasn't a glitch, you must explain the situation to the Ad Com, very clearly. An explanation is the only way out and will not have a detrimental impact on the result.

Good luck!
