I don't know if we are above the general applicant level. In terms of GMAT, yes, as a group we are slightly above average, but that's balanced out by the our collectively low GPA. I think it's a wash.

Did everyone get the email yesterday about the GSB winter events. It is supposed to be run by current students and is an informal meeting.

I went to regester...and the san diego event is on December 20th.

I find it strange that you have to register even though it's student led.

Why? It's probably just a way for them to simplify the organization. Student led or not, it's admissions office coordinated, and it's really an admissions office event.

Also, I updated P1 to include everyone who posted here I think.

I have to be honest and say I'm really depressed looking at the stats of my competition in R1. Stellar across the board. I'm a nervous wreck. Sigh. Three more days. Just three more measly piece of crap days.

Really nothing to be depressed about. Seriously would you wish your "possible" future classmates to be below par? Then again, personally I don't think the stats are that impressive. Like I said most of us in R1 fall under the "high GMAT, low GPA" category. I mean if you know your GPA is low, of course you're going to work your a$$ off to ace the GMAT. The above average GMAT scores are thus not really surprising at all. In fact, it should be expected. If anything, I am kind of surprised that people didn't score higher (where are the 99%???).

Simple. The students who lead the meetings 1) have limited budget allowance and 2) need to know in advance for how many people they need to make reservations in a cafe. It is just a matter of organization.
