Hmm... I think I just figured out Chicago's yield %. The number of incoming full time students that comes back on a search in their community portal suddenly dropped today - I think that its because of the 21st deposit deadline.

If I'm right... its high. Not harvard high, but high.

Do you mean they'll start calling admits from next Mon? If so, I'll watch out my mobile phone.

If another good news comes from Chicago GSB, then tough time to weigh between Wharton and Chicago GSB.

I hope you're wrong about the yield %. I kind of hope it is lower so that a bunch of us on the WL can get in.

Well it might also be artificially high right now - i mean, you have to figure some percentage of people are putting down deposits but waiting on other schools to get off their waitlists or maybe even their R2 decisions.

Yes. I would expect you will start seeing admits on Monday. Thats how it worked in R1, and I know I've seen posts from GSB adcoms suggesting the same will happen in R2.

Search the online community for # of incoming full time MBA students a few weeks ago = X

March 21st... deposit deadline

Search today, and X is suddenly smaller.

I don't understand. How do you know who is an incoming full time student?

Did you search in here: https://forums.chicagogsb.edu/n/pfx/foru ... Admissions

Or on the admitted students site that only admits can see?

It's a community/student directory that requires a GSB login - so only admits/students/staff etc can see it.

It lets you search students, alumni, etc and theres a specific filter for "program" and "incoming student". By combining program ("Full time") with the incoming student filter, you can get a pretty solid idea of # of admits in R1.. and when the number suddenly drops, you can get an idea of what yield might be.

Froim the gsb admit forums:

All decisions will be officially released on Wednesday, March 28th; you'll receive an email that morning asking you to check your status online which will then reveal your final decision. It is the GSB's tradition to call our admitted students a day or two before the notification date.

So as a follow-up, do you mind to share how many people are admited in round 1 and how many have accepted the offer?

Thanks!

That's okay then!
don't give out anything you don't feel comfortable doing...

... though, hopefully, you can confirm that there a lot of spots still available...
