I am planning to leave work 5/19 and take a 8 day trip to Bermuda, come back bartend for about 3 weeks then travel to Vegas for a week and then go to the Grand Canyon and backpack for another 8-10 days. Then I am going to come back home bartend a few more weeks and move to Houston. I figure that this is really my last chance before retirement to take a bunch of trips in one summer, so might as well take full advantage of it! What is there to feel guilty about? Enjoy your time off and unwind, because you will hit the ground running come August!

you are going backpacking in Grand Canyon in July? That's....HOT!!!

We did that last year to/from Havasuapai. It was not too bad, just had to carry a little more water than was convenient. Ill post the pics here. It was BEAUTIFUL. We are doing the Rim to Rim hike this time. Starting on the south rim (hot, but going down hill) and climbing out at the north rim where the average high is only 75 (not bad). Anyways, here are the pictures:

Hey guys. I am in a slightly precarious situation and would appreciate any guidance anyone can offer.

I am on the verge of selling my family business and have applied to all my target B-Schools for Round 1. I am confident that I will get into one of the schools in my listing. So I have a couple of options at this point. I can either join a firm and work for the remaining 6 months or so before school starts, or I can take that time off to travel the world and do stuff I always wanted to do but never had the time. Apart from the fact that the second option if far more appealing, I don't want to screw up my employer (To-be) by leaving in just 6 months.

My query is whether a break of 6 months be looked upon in bad light later in job interviews and also if B-Schools really care about what you do in the period between accepting the offer letter and starting classes?

Really looking forward to some inputs. Thanks a lot!!!
