I am going to register for my gmat for the fourth time.. and this number by itself is making me doubt my decision... Before you judge me I must tell you that I started preparing for the gmat only in Nov 2011.. I am not great with math so i had to do a lot of work.. the reason I gave so many gmats in such little time is because I was too ambitious about meeting some impossible application deadlines to a few schools.. The sad part is that my desperateness is still running high... I am now registering for the fourth time because the next application deadline for my school is on August 31st(THIS MONTH !!!!).. I need a gmat score of 650+ and I just cant seem to make it there..

here is my history of scores... 01/12/2011 - 380; 27/01/2012 - 490 ; 28/06/2012 - 610... and now I am forced to take one again in August.. I am headbent on joining this particular B school which commences in Dec 2012. SO I NEED TO MAKE THE DEADLINE.. AUG 31ST.. I NEED A GMAT SCORE OF 650+... I dont want to push it to the next year.. period!

My current progress:
I am managing a 46 in my quant which I want to boost atleast to a 50.. whereas verbal is just not my cup of tea.. it pulls me down.. i scored 30 in the last gmat.. but now i just seem to be doing worse every day.. all my mock tests score my verbal nothing more than 25..

I need techniques on how i can get from a 610 to a 680 in just 20 days.. I dont need a great score.. i just need this school.. Please give me your thoughts..
Also.. i am out of tests..
KAPLAN Premier - 5 tests - done
MGMAT - 6 tests - done twice..
GMAT Prep - 2 tests - done a million times.

2 questions:
Have they updated the gmat prep tests recently?
If i buy different books of the mgmat and the kaplan series will i receive a different set of tests??

PLease suggest some great test sources.. I am so short of time.. wish me luck... thanks again for taking time to read this..

Am not sure which other tests you can try but i guess you can go for gmatclub tests?
Am not sure if you will get new sets of questions if you buy a new book!

Regarding practice:
Did you try grockit.com? try it!

Regarding Improvement:
Quant:
Did you create a error log? Do you know your weakness?

Verbal
Did you try Thursdays with Ron? Which all books did you refer?
For CR did you try Powercore CR bible? Why can't you apply in Round 2 of your college?

Hi,

thanks for your time..!!

GMATCLUB tests are indeed an option but i find them a little too pricey..

Quant: Yet to create an error log. My weakness is my timing.
Verbal:
I refer to the OG, MGMAT - SC,CR and RC, KAPLAN PREMIER.

This is the round 2 for admissions. The next batch starts next year April and I dont want to wait that long.

Regarding Tests:
Am not sure about this.

Regarding Quant:
Did you try grockit.com? For every question they have a timer of less than 2:30mins. So it will definetly help you in improving your speed. Also, it will be good to create an error log first before going forward. It will help you track your progress in a better way! And in the longer run will give you the result!

Regarding Verbal:
Am not sure if its the right time to try a new book but if you can efford then i will suggest you to try
SC: Thursdays with Ron! Trust me it will help you a LOT! (SC score will go up buy 3-4 points for sure!)
CR: Powerscore CR bible! (Take myw ord you can solve any question after reading thsi book! It wont take more than 3 days to finish this with confidence!)
RC: am not very good at this either. But do watch "Main idea" questions suessions by Ron in the Thursdays with Ron series! (You will get that questions right without fail with a 100% accuracy!)

thanks again for your reply.. I took your advice and was working out some problems from grockit yesterday.. pretty true about helping me finish off sums within time the limit..

I was just wondering what "thursdays with Ron" is.. is it a book? I cant find it on Flipkart.. or is this an online session or something?

My biggest weakness is RC too :)..
