Hi all,
There are a lot of applicants to the Johnson school from SE Asia. Does anyone consider H1B visa issues before applying? Well, I was just thinking that there are 20,000 visas available to professionals who hold a Masters degree - last year there were more than 20,000 applicants, and therefore all those whose names did not figure in the "random lottery" were part of the 65,000 general H1B visa category, in which there were a staggering 124,000 applicants for the 65k visas. Again, a second lottery was conducted for these 65k positions. Imagine someone being so unlucky that his or her name doesn't feature in either of these!

There is no option, but to head back to the home country with a HUGE LOAN! What I'm wondering is whether the challenging visa situation is a cause for worry or not? Has anyone reflected on these issues before?
I know this is off-the topic of the current discussion for interview invites but it would be great if we can have some opinions out here.
Cheers!
