First of Congrats to all those who got in.
Double congrats to those celebrating other events in life. Wish you all - all the best.

Now about me - Waitlisted again. I guess I will die waiting :)
From yesterday to today my productivity has been nill.. Still trying to hang in there..

@packet82 and @atHaas - Thanks for your continuous support. At this point I believe its more of adcom trying to judge the overall applicant pool rather than my own application (I am from a highly over-represented pool). After first round of WL, I already submitted additional recommendation, (promotion) update to my employment record. As atHaas mentioned my GMAT looks good for Haas. I believe what is doing me in is the number of years of experience which is less than Haas median (mine is 4.5 years). I wish I had followed my childhood dream and built a time machine by now to fix that :)

Anyways Question to you guys and the re-applicants on board - What are the odds like from double waitlist. Do you know anyone who still got through. Any advice as to what I can do at this point that will improve the odds.

I'm about in the same boat as you, Bit :(

Just got wailisted again (applied in R1 and was waitlisted). Submitted an update to my application (promotion), but only have 4 years work experience. Had I not taken 2 years off in college I would be at 6 years and feel much more confident in my application.

WL for me as well. I think my yrs of work experience is the issue for them (just under 4 years).

Anyways, I see a fourth round on Admissions Page. Was it there from beginning? The result date for both 3rd and 4th round is May 30 so I guess that is when we will know next, right?

WL as well. Since I didn't get a call yesterday, I was prepared for a rejection today, so happy to be placed on the WL!
I have to submit my deposit to Kellogg in a month and start classes end of June. Anyone know when Haas will announce the final decision if I continue with the WL?

@bit @byucoug @WL folks- Last year I was WL twice, before being rejected on the last before school started, so I know how you guys feel. Hang in there.

One thing you guys could do is to either redo one of your essays, which you think might be weak or write a new essay about a Haas principle. I had submitted an essay last year about how I exemplified a Haas principle, that was not covered in my first app or interview. During my feedback interview, the Adcom person mentioned that it had a positive impact on my app last yr (obviously not positive enough!).

If possible, have your manager write an additional letter which shows Adcom that even though you don't have much experience, you are taking on tasks which a senior person might do. That might help mitigate the lack of experience a bit.

Yup, you can email an additional essay to Adcom. They just add it to your file.

I didn't re-do an essay last year but I think you can just email it to them and they will replace the old one. You need to be a bit careful about this one though, as you don't want to add a new essay just for the sake of adding one. Make sure there are significant changes to this.

Congratulations to all the admits and hang in there for all the waitlisted people. Round 4 bodes well for the waitlisted imo.


I was wondering if anyone interviewed with Linda? I have an interview for round 3 next week with her.

I am in the same boat as you. Have Kellogg PT MBA admit for Summer. Let me know if you know when the Haas decision would be out but based on what I read, it wont be out before May 2nd week (when we are to pay the Kellogg deposit). Were you leaning towards Haas more than Kellogg?

If you're on WL, you won't know until May 30th (Round 3/4 decision date). However, in their FAQ, they mention you could possibly find out later than May 30th too.

Hi there,

I am new to this forum. I am a first round applicant and was waitlisted. I checked my application status online yesterday and it said "File under review". Today it changed to "Waitlisted" with the message below:
After a careful review of your application to the Evening & Weekend Berkeley MBA Program, the Admissions Committee has decided to hold your application for further consideration. While we find your application to be strong, the highly competitive nature of our admissions process is such that we are unable to offer you admission at this time.
We would like to offer you a place on our waitlist. Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions. To accept a place on the waitlist, please reply to the email sent to you.

I am confused because I haven't received an email but I guess I am on the round 2 waitlist now.

Is anyone else in the same boat?
