Hi All,
I'm currently waiting to hear back from Haas and a few other places, and I just want to get some perspective before I make any moves.
I really like Haas and its culture-- it's the first business school I got really excited about, and it's the one I vibe with the most. I feel aligned to its 4 principles + the overall mission of the school.
But I'm from the northeast, and I'll probably be returning to the northeast (boston, nyc, DC) after my mba. My goal is to switch from education into consulting, ideally social-impact consulting. I've heard Haas is a very regional school and most grads stay in the area. I've also heard geography doesn't matter for consulting and I'll be fine coming back to the NE.
Anyone have any experience or insight into this?

Consulting is one of the MBA feeder industries that can truly opportunities to work across the country (and globe). The offices closest to your school, SF for Haas will obviously have a bigger presence when it comes to placement, but that does not wall off the school to east placement. Now you should keep in mind that the east coast offices particularly Boston and NY are very competitive because there tends to be a lot of interest from students and competition from local top programs like HBS, Sloan, CBS, and Wharton. One thing you might want to check out as well as the school's employment report, most schools will share geographic placement of FT students as well which can provide tons of great insight for you.
