I just spoke with the person on the phone. The person was in such a hurry, when I asked about the application results.. She said wait for 4 hours. It will be posted by then..

She could not give me the result immediately? It means a ding to me!!!
She did not bother even saying what I had.. If the results were already out, why to wait for it to be posted. Why not just say it on the phone. She did say if you have questions, you can call next week after the results were posted at 5.00

arggh... the wait is killing me!

She did not bother even saying what I had.. If the results were already out, why to wait for it to be posted. Why not just say it on the phone. She did say if you have questions, you can call next week after the results were posted at 5.00

arggh... the wait is killing me!

Good luck! It's a tough program to get into, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't pan out - but I think you've got a pretty good shot. Don't worry about not telling you over hte phone - you know how many people have probably called today?

I would confirm with them what they are looking for in these classes. If you sign up for these classes and get A's, will they let you in? I don't think I would be satisfied to know that they will reconsider the application if you take the classes.

You should try to get some assurances from them before you invest that type of effort.

I was thinking of the same.. What does it mean? I went and registered for classes, but not paid any money yet. I am worried if they just gave the same reply to more people. (I already know one more guy who got the same reply).

I suggested he do the same thing. I'd take it a step further and explicitly ask what, exactly, are they looking to measure from these classes? I think asking someone to undertake THREE classes is a lot to ask. A brush up course in stats sure... but stats, math AND corp finance?

I suppose you are also waiting for a decision on the MSCF prog at Tepper. It would also make sense to check out if they too have a similar requirement ( actually looks atrocious :? :shock: :x ).. In that case, it may be necessary for you to complete the requirements. Hope it not the case with Tepper also :-D

yes add tepper to the list here.. I don't understand the need of math and stats here, since i had a very good quant score. The only thing that comes to my mind is if they need me to take refresher course since its been a while

Thanks a lot Rhyme! I send them an email this morning.. Lets see what happens.. I am kind of worried the way California is handling the case.. I am thinking they have not looked at my file at all till now, and have given the same update to everyone........... Could that be possible?

Tepper has only one math class, which I plan to take... Its a refresher class 3 weeks before you begin the semester.. this will give me time to get into the groove and settle down in Pittsburgh.. And they ask you to take this class only if you want to.. thats what the website says..

Lets hope they dont say, you come down here and then we will decide!!!

I think Haas says this, because they know I can do it online.. But working 60 hours a week, taking 3 classes and applying to MBA schools is a lot to do.
