It's funny because most Harvard undergrads that I've met are the opposite, if you ask them where they went to school they'll kind of cough and say something about Cambridge. I imagine it's almost like if you're a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon and people ask you what you do for a living. When you're part of an institution that's almost a cliched superlative it's kind of humorous.
But yeah, the HBS kids have no problem bringing up business school. The other night I showed up for a poker game at a friend of a friends place. I knew my friend went to HBS, but I didn't expect to show up at a poker game with six other guys that went to HBS. Right from the get-go conversation was, "I was closing a deal last week...hey remember Larry, he's trying to get me to invest two hundred thousand dollars in this crazy venture of his...Credit Suisse just doesn't have the clout that....Well I guess I better cash out, I have to be on a plane for San Fran tomorrow, closing a deal...$$$$$$$$$$$.....money.....more money...HBS.....$$$$$$"
