Harvard vs. Wharton in India

Question

Which school has a larger alumni network/ better reputation in India? Especially for PE?

I recognize both are premiere schools and you will do well going to either. In the US (especially for PE), I would give the advantage to HBS.

Just wanted to hear what the Indian perceptions are.

For reference, have been admitted to one and interviewed at the other, so may end up being a moot point, but still curious.

I would vote for HBS. A lot of the big PE shops in India are headed by HBS alums.
I would say HBS alumni dominate the VC/PE industry in India, at least at the partner level.

But at the end of the day, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I think both schools will serve you equally well in India. If you're especially concerned, take a look at the websites of the various PE/VC shops (both ones that are based out of India as well as those from the US with India offices) and check out the profiles of the various associates and MDs. Should give you an idea about their backgrounds.
