I think if you post the questions that you dont understand in the forum, you will get some good explainations from others. Just try out.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was considering doing that with the problems that even my husband (who is much more of a math whiz than I) couldn't answer.[/list]

Are those paper tests use the current GMAT format? For instance, right now, you get AWA, then quantitative (37 questions) and then verbal (41 questions).

No they are not in the current format and neither they are CATs. But one most important thing is they have a set of very good questions, specially verbal. I recommend practicing those along with GMATprep and Powerprep during last 2-3 weeks and ofcourse OG.

I bought all 8 copies a few months ago. These paper GMAT tests are not CAT format. Each paper test includes 2 AWA quesitons (1 issue, 1 argument) and it breaks down Q and V sections into 6 sections (For Q: 2 PS sections, 1 DS section. For V: 1 SC section, 1 CR section and 1 RC section).
I haven't touch the paper test since I have access to various CAT tests. Because of power outage, I did a paper test this afternoon. The paper test score is similar to my average GMATprep CAT score, difficulty is about the same.
I think the paper test is as good as the CAT test.

Math seems to be bit easier than GMATprep on those paper tests .
I think Club challenges and MGMAT CATs provide tough math questions.

Here is my experience based on ONE paper test:

Most of the quantitative questions were either from OG or from quantitative review Official Guide.

You were supposed to complete 23 RC in 30 minutes.
16 CR in 25 and 22 SC in 25. So, all in all 61 questions in 80 minutes vs GMAT of today 41 in 75.

So, these tests can help you train yourself to be in 5th gear all the time OR they can shatter your confidence.

I believe PELIHU ( V51 scorer) used it. I am getting the copies from him in a couple of days.

I'll scan and share them if possible in future.

I wonder if any one of you agree with me that the verbal in these paper tests is a challenge while the quantitative part seems to be pretty straight forward. Doing 23 RCs in 30 minutes is beyond my limits...

Hi guys,

I have not yet tried GMAT Prep but my question is different.

i have Kaplan Premier 2007 and Kaplan 800 as well as Kaplan Verbal workbook, noticed that verbal workbook repeats the same thing that Kaplan 800 has. annoying!
before discovering, i was about to buy Kaplan math workbook. since i have Kaplan premier and Kaplan 800 i should be fine with math.

now i need an ideal math workbook other than Kaplan. what do you recom te best to invest. Princeton, Veritas, Barrons or any others, i have a long way until i take my gmat, so i will take my time and prepare for it.

Thanks

I recently purchased these. I think they are better source than many other tests offered online. At least, questions are relevant and you are convinced with the correct answer. Although questions may seem little too easy, scoring is a bit harsh so you need to be extra careful in such a limited time. For example, 46 correct out of 51 will land you on 47q.

for the sc section because this is what am concentrating at the moment I haven't seen them all but for the most part there are new sc questions that I didnt come across before, so I would say they are excellent practice material for anyone who ran out of questions

I've only tried couple of the nine paper tests and lot of the questions are from the Official Guides.
