HBS, Sloan. I am still trying to think what happened...I had a slight headache but I thought that shouldn't affect my performance.

i get the headache too... I think it is related to the pressure, the intellectual activity, and the long time you spend in front of the computer.
As you may know, HBS and MIT S have relativley high GMAT average statistics...

Did you just take only 2 practice tests?

If you read the other experiences of people who get +700 scores, you will see that they took at least 5 tests.

Hope it helps.

Did you take a lot of tests or practice with GMATClub's tests?

yufenshi
I just finished my GMAT and I am still in shock. I received only a 650, while my practice scores have been over 700( GMAT prep: 750, Mgmat 710).

as USCTrojan2006 said, you should do more practice exams: kaplan and MGMAT are good one in my opinion, as far as preparation is concerned (they are not necessarily representative of the real stuff though)

Most people recommend taking multiple practice tests at home as well as at more stressful environment, such as library to account for distractions.
My guess, then scores will be more representative of real exam.

I only took 3 practice tests the whole time I was studying, and I scored over 700... To me, practice tests are important for timing and getting comfortable with the system, but more tests don't necessarily lead to higher scores.

Did you do both essays on your practice tests?

3 mock test and 750 is a very good performance... But it surely depends on how everyone need to prepare.
I need more practice tests to feel at ease (like a competition): then when you take the test, you just feel "at home".

practice tests are practice tests or if it truly reflects what you get might as well use that score instead. There are people who did worse or even better than their practice tests... it is a weird thing
