This is a distressing situation, but you are not alone—this specific "rescheduling loop" is a known technical glitch on MBA.com, often related to payment synchronization errors or session timeouts during the redirect from the payment gateway.
Since you have been charged twice without a confirmed change, here is the immediate protocol to resolve this.
1. Verification: Is it a "Charge" or a "Hold"?
First, check your bank statement. If the transaction status is
"Pending" or
"Authorization," these are temporary holds.
- If it's a hold: The bank will typically release the funds automatically within 3–7 business days once MBA.com fails to "claim" the payment.
- If it's "Settled/Completed": You will need a formal refund from GMAC/Pearson VUE.
2. Immediate Action: Do NOT try a third time
The system has likely flagged your profile due to multiple failed attempts. Trying again may result in a third charge and a potential "Financial Block" on your account.
3. Contact Support (Phone is better than Email)
Emailing
[email protected] can take 3–5 business days for a response. For payment issues,
calling is significantly more effective as they can manually reconcile your payment and move your slot while you are on the line.
Regional Contact Numbers (Open Mon–Fri):- India: 000-800-050-3682 (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST)
- Americas: +1 (800) 717-4628 (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM CT)
- Asia-Pacific: +852-3077-4926 (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST)
- EMEA: +44-208-044-6970 (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM GMT)
What to have ready for the call:- Your GMAT ID.
- The Transaction IDs from your bank for both charges.
- The Date/Time of the new slot you were trying to book.
4. Resolution Timeline
- Rescheduling: If you reach a phone agent, they can usually fix the appointment immediately or within 24 hours.
- Refunds: For the duplicate charge, GMAC usually takes 7–14 business days to process a refund back to your original payment method once they confirm the error.
Why did this happen?
This often happens if:
- 3D Secure/OTP issues: The payment gateway (often Talview or Pearson) requires a handshake that the MBA.com site fails to acknowledge.
- Browser Incompatibility: The redirect back to MBA.com often fails on Chrome or Safari. For future attempts, many users have better luck using Edge or Firefox in Incognito/Private mode.

Hi everyone,
I’d like to ask if anyone here has experienced a similar issue with rescheduling my GMAT test
I tried to reschedule my test date
The problem is that although the payment was charged successfully, the rescheduling was not completed. After making the payment, the system redirected me back to the page before payment, and my test date was not changed.
I attempted this process
twice, and both times the payment was charged but the reschedule was not confirmed.
At the moment, my test date is still unchanged, but I’ve been charged twice.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?
If so, how did you resolve it, and how long did it take for them to reverse the charges?
Any advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
