Hugh, you are doing fine, a 640 is good, where you want to go?

Hey how do you improve on the tests in Kaplan; any good advice?

no problem :) it should work with any mastercard (no matter how many times or if it's debit) I just got discount code the other day. If it's taking to long, make sure to email them about it. It wasn't until I emailed that I finally got it. Not usually the case though.

Wondering whether I should double dip and get the 2004 book even though I have the 2003 version already. I have a amazon coupon which I wouldn't mind using towards this.

btw...

https://www.mastercard.com/amazon :) it works

Thanks for the LINK Andy

is it really the same though? I read that the math review section has been expanded. Not true?

oh and htown, I already own these books...

Kaplan 2003
Kaplan Verbal and Math Workout books
GMAT Official Guide 10th edition
Crack-GMAT
Cracking the GMAT CAT (don't remember the title exactly) -- Thomson

I was thinking of getting that Essay book. Just to get a feel for the essays. Would it be a waste of money or in my case waste of a discount?

I actually sat down and compared the 2004 Kaplan with the 2003 Kaplan at my local Barnes & Nobles a few weeks ago (they still had copies of the 2003 Kap even though they just stocked the 2004 version).

Although I basically skimmed both -- focusing in on parts of interest to me -- from what I can tell THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME BOOK! They may well have slightly different formatting but they are essentially the same book.

If you are interested in the CD-ROMs as well, they appear to be the same (the same version number). The only noticeable difference (without actually having tried the 2004 CD-ROM) is that the CD cover design is different.

So if you have the 2003 Kap, then save your money and don't buy the 2004 version. Someone else did mention that there might be some advertisement for some free services offered in the 2004 book. I'm not sure that it would be worth buying essentially the same book just for that. I think that if you went to the Kaplan website, you probably could get the same deal without having to buy 2004 Kap.

The product description almost fooled me into buying the 2004 version. It mentioned a expanded Math review. You mean to tell me that they still give a very basic overview of probability and combinations? Thank God for sites like these because I would have lost it during the test if I confronted such a question.
