Hello everyone,
I have a week to go to my GMAT and I got a 600 in my OG Practice test 1. It turns out of that about half my wrong answers in quant are because of silly mistakes. Specifically I seem to miss keywords in the question.
Appreciate ANY pointers and suggestions ! Please help !
Thanks.
1. Stop before you rush into the next question. take 2 seconds between questions to focus your eyes on the keyboard or your hands. Get your emotions and stress a bit under control
2. At the end of every question, re-read the question and make sure you answered what you had to answer (watch for common traps - you should have a list by now... and try to expect them too)
3. On my GMAT, I have solved 2 questions to only NOT find the answer I came up with as one of the options - I was lucky!
4. Try not to do calculations that you don't trust yourself with in your mind - I had that as the biggest issue. 13-5 was 7 and 30-12 was 22. I was somehow messing up on the easiest math and I had to watch it. As you can see i got Q49 - not a bad score but definitely i got nailed in a few spots.
These strategies will get your more questions answered correctly... BUT they will take more time for you to solve each question. It is a trade off and you have to decide if you want to use them and if you are willing to spend an extra 1-2 mins on the tests just on these strategies. It is for you to decide and determine.
