Fair to say including Official questions (i.e. those from the Official-Guide) into a prep path would be a solid choice. You can get e-versions of different guides from the MBA website. Consider checking out Manhattan-Prep's 6th edition for CR as well. Working with a study buddy who is really strong on CR and checking out YouTube videos to see how other people go through CR questions may be helpful as well.

3.5 minutes on one question, or even 10 minutes on one question, isn't excessive at the stage of prep at which you are right now. It takes time to learn to answer CR questions, and as you develop skill, you'll naturally get faster.

By focusing on analyzing questions thoroughly and developing skill in seeing what's going on in the questions, you'll get faster because skill in seeing what's going on in the questions is what makes you fast.

For some tips that could help you be both faster and more accurate in CR, see this post.

I just started learning Critical Reasoning problems. I’m following magoosh contents. The thing is, I perfectly understand segments such as Weakening, Strengthening, paradox etc. It seems easy at first. Then when I started solving the practice test on individual topic like weakening. I am having hard time understanding the statement. Like I am reading the statement, somehow I visualization isn’t coming to my head. Also, It takes almost a minute to read the statement, then to read the answer option, it takes almost 2 minutes. And to answer the whole question, I take almost 3 minutes. And If its long and hard question, then It takes almost 3 and half minute easily.

So how do I approach this problem. This has become single most frustrating thing right now.

It's normal to take more time when you're just starting out, especially with complex problem types. The key thing right now is that you understand the arguments and are able to break them down into their components (premises, conclusion etc). Don't worry too much about the time it's taking you.

Focus primarily on accuracy and understanding the structure of the arguments. Once you start achieving consistently high accuracy, say around 90% or more, across both easy and medium questions, you'll find that your speed will naturally improve. As you become more comfortable, you can start practicing with timed conditions to optimize your speed further. Remember, practice and familiarity will make things easier over time!

Thank you, man! Actually Today I was practicing the easy & medium ones in Magoosh, and I saw a strategy where someone wrote about finishing the easy & medium ones initially for practicing different types. I did that today, It actually helping me to grasp the problem. Let's see what happens.

Need to identify the Conclusion, and thereafter assess the alternatives in line with the Conclusion.

The method works..

All the Best.

Yeah! It's actually working. Let's see how it lands for more hard problems.

Hi phmahi1997,
