Hello! First time here,
Currently a rising senior hoping to apply to top MBA Programs that admit college seniors. Have no idea what my chances are but below is my profile.
BACKGROUND
Age: 21
Nationality: African American
Sex: Female
Low-Income
ACADEMICS
School: Top 15 Liberal Arts College (i.e. Vassar, Wesleyan)
Education: Anthropology Major, Mathematics Minor
GPA: 2.XX* (extenuating circumstances - documented medical issues throughout college, massive blemish on profile, I know
)
GMAT: 760* (same score from two proctored practice exams administered by college, will be taking official soon and shooting for 750+)
PRE-MBA PROGRAMS
Attended prestigious summer developmental programs at business schools to hone in on analytical skillset.
HBS Summer Venture in Management Program
Stanford GSB Summer Institute for General Management
Chicago Booth Summer Business Scholars
WORK EXPERIENCE
Interning at a top Tech Firm this summer (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) in non-tech, business oriented role.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Student Government Class Representative
3-Year Varsity Lacrosse Athlete (Won't be continuing for a fourth year due to injury)
Significant activism with regards to diversity (race, gender, and socioeconomic status) in higher education. I've held leadership roles in and off campus, participated in conferences, gained national awards, recognition, etc)

Thinking about applying R3 to raise GPA a tad. I'm sure it'll still hurt me either way. Any thoughtful insight would be fantastic.

Hello! Thanks so much for sharing your stats. There are A LOT of strengths in your profile. I love that you've done those pre-MBA programs, those are all very well-regarded. Your internship sounds great too - just make sure you have a cohesive story for your applications around why you chose an internship in Tech and how that relates to your eventual career goals in either consulting or IB. The 2&2 or deferred type programs also look for evidence of leadership and sounds like you're really strong there too, with your activism efforts and being a student athlete too. Plus you're in an underrepresented minority group, so that may give you a slight edge too.
The only weak point I see is the GPA and it is quite low. You can write an explanation in an Optional Essay and having a high GMAT like your practice scores can help too. But it'll still be there and it's hard to know if that will be too much of a concern for the calibre of schools you're looking at. Especially since you're applying early in your career when the GPA is so recent. If you think waiting a semester will help to raise it, then that might be worth it. R3 can be tougher but I think it makes sense to apply when you can put in your best application, which in your case may mean waiting a bit.
As for schools, I know HBS and Stanford have deferred type programs. Booth encourages early career candidates (https://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/fu ... candidates) but doesn't have a separate program or admission process. You might want to consider Yale too, for their Silver Scholars program (https://som.yale.edu/our-programs/mba/ad ... rs-program). I'm not sure about the others on your list.
One last thing - have you looked into The Consortium? (https://www.cgsm.org/) I'm not sure if they accept college seniors but that might be a great fit for you given your demonstrated commitment to diversity. Might be something to consider if you end up applying down the road.
