Hello
yanichuI hope you are doing well. Your profile seems quite strong overall, with international experience, work experience, and a decent GPA. While your GMAT score of 640 might not be exceptionally high, it's still within the range of admitted students at some top business schools. However, it's true that HEC Paris, being a prestigious institution, generally has a competitive applicant pool, and they do consider GMAT scores as an important factor.
Here are a few suggestions:1.
Retake the GMAT: Given the competitive nature of admissions to top-tier programs, consider retaking the GMAT to improve your score. Many applicants take the test more than once to achieve a higher score. Focus on areas where you feel you can improve and continue your preparation.
2.
Highlight other strengths: Emphasize other strengths in your application. Your work experience, international exposure, and volunteer experience can set you apart. Make sure to articulate how these experiences have contributed to your professional and personal development.
3.
Application Essays and Recommendations: Craft compelling essays that effectively communicate your motivation, goals, and what you bring to the program. Strong letters of recommendation from your workplace or academic mentors can also play a crucial role.
4.
Networking: Reach out to alumni or current students of the programs you're interested in. They can provide insights into the application process, share their experiences, and potentially offer guidance on improving your application.
Remember that admissions decisions are holistic, and while the GMAT is an important factor, it's not the only one. Showcase your unique strengths and experiences in your application.
Good luck with your application!

Hi everyone I’m new here so I hope this is the right forum’s section. Do u think I have any chance getting into HEC Paris (for the International Finance Master or the Economics and Finance program? My profile:
24 yrs, Chinese but based in Spain, I’m currently working in a consulting company and have almost 2 years of experience. I also have a internaship experience and have had volunteered several summers.
GPA 8,44/10 using Spanish grading system. Also had an Erasmus experience in Warwick Business School for 6 months.

My biggest pain is the GMAT score. I have been studying for it by my own and while working for 3-4 months now but my performance in the exam is not excellent.
Please tell what you think and if u have any other suggestions regarding universities where I could apply.
