Hey everyone,
Recently, I got admitted to the MIM program at HEC. Additionally, I also got interviewed for the SIM of St Gallen and the MIM + CEMS of RSM. I expect to receive 2 admits here as well.
Intuitively, HEC seems to be the easy choice (#1 European B-school & #1 MIM worldwide). However, I am debating whether or not HEC is actually the right pick for me.
My post-MSc plan is to work as a consultant (MBB) or within finance, both in the Netherlands (Amsterdam region). However, this is just my current plan and it is not 100% set in stone.
Overall, I am just wondering if HEC provides sufficient additional value when compared to, for instance, RSM (or St Gallen).
Let's say I do want to end up working at a top-firm in the Netherlands, would RSM then not be the better choice? I've heard people say that they will probably prefer RSM students instead of HEC students, but I don't know if that is true. Moreover, RSM is 48.000 EUR cheaper, so if the outcomes of both schools are the same (i.e. salary / placements), does RSM than (again) not sound like the more straight-forward option?
On the other hand, could it also be the case that HEC provides so much additional value that it would even be better than RSM in this scenario?
I just feel a bit lost and I don't want to make the 'wrong' decision here.
I'd love to hear your guys' opinions about this!
