Hi all,

I will soon start preparing my applications for Masters programs in Europe, but I need some advice.

I would love to hear your opinions about the HEC MiM. I am mostly interested towards a career in finance, so till now I only considered Msc Finance programs.
However, I read that the MiM at HEC is a 18-months program, and choosing the finance specialization in the second year I would attend all the classes of the MIF students.

I am considering the MiM because I lack work experience, and attending a two-year program (three-year, if I take a gap year) would give me lots of chances of getting internships.

I am unsure about the program (and HEC) though, so any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

Other two-year programs are Bocconi and SSE, but the former would imply living two more years in Milan, the latter I have doubts about its career opportunities (compared to HEC in particular).

HEC is a great school Alessio and both the MiF and MiM are very good programs.

and yes it is true that you can specialise in Finance in the MiM, and take up most of the same courses
Additionally the job prospects you get post both the degrees is exactly the same.

So basically you can make a choice based on how long you want to study, as well as how specialised you want your education to be

Be careful both degrees are super competitive, but for MiF they would expect you to have some good financial experience and background, MiM can be a better call if you have a more general background (should still be strong)

You can get some insights on the HEC essays here
