q1992
For Product Management, which one would you choose nowadays, HEC or Insead? I have already been admitted to both schools, just waiting for schollarships decisions. Consulting is also a interesting choice but not a priority. Looking to get into bigtech or beauty sector.
Looking to hear from you!
Hi
q1992 hope this finds you well. Congrats on the impressive admits!
Both programs offer good options for product management roles. However, it's important to note that one-year MBA programs tend to have a more general management focus, and you may not have an immersive academic concentration experience in your areas of interest beyond a few short elective courses. If you don't have prior experience in product management, you will need to do some additional preparation on your own.
Based on feedback from previous my applicants (and HEC graduates), HEC's curriculum and duration provide a conducive environment for adapting and planning a transition into a new role or industry. INSEAD, on the other hand, is known for its rigorous program due to its shorter length. You should analyze which setup suits you best and consider where you envision working in the mid to long term. The brand recall of your MBA in geography where you want to work eventually also plays a significant role. In my experience, I can confidently say that INSEAD's global reach and network are exceptional. For HEC Paris, it would be valuable to connect with alumni to gain a better understanding of their experiences and insights.
