hey guys,
thanks for helping out...

About taking the GMAT again...i am not getting a date before january 2006 and i think it is kind of late after that.
And about choosing schools in that range, i think i will have to do that...but do you guys think it is worth going to a middle range school...i mean is it the same and do good companies come there too?

Meenal.

Meenal,

Register to take the test in a different county, city, or even neighboring state if you have to so that you don`t miss the R2 application deadline.

As for the background noise, take some damp tissue paper and stuff it as deep into your ears as possible. Then wear the headset over your ears to block out 100% of the ambient sound. A bomb could go off next door and you would be oblivious.

Good luck!

In my opinion, I think its worth to put some extra effort and try to take GMAT once more. Since, you already have a very good English background, you can easily improve your score. You just need to sit down for few weeks and practice the kind of questions GMAT asks.
This should boost your score beyond 600 and then you can get into top-20.As for the importance of the ranking of the university -- I think coming from a very good school gives you the initial boost to get placed in a good firm. And I think school does matter when getting placed right out of college. Thast what my experience says -- though I am from engineering background. Even then, when I interview ppl, I do check the college name.

Good luck!

I totally understand what you mean about distractions. There was this girl who was tearing up near my cube. She wanted the proctor to cancel her test. I was distracted..and it was hurting my concentration. Of course, I messed up on time management as well on verbal.

Nonetheless, I with you luck on your apps...and on the GMAT if you try again!
