Hi Vartika2525,

We last discussed your studies approximately 7 months ago, so before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying since then:

1) What type of study routine have you been following? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies?
3) Over the last 7 months, on what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What are your current application plans?

Hello everyone
So after studying and putting all my efforts for more than 1 year now….I am still not able to score more than 500 in my mock tests I have studied everything possible my goal score is 700+ but I seriously cannot figure out where am i lagging…I have been consistent with my studies and have tried everything possible…

On my first attempt, I scored 250(in Feb)and I must say that I was not good with my basics and concepts but now when everything is clear to me I still fail to score well, and honestly, it’s sad and frustrating.
My second attempt is on 11th October. Idk what exactly to do should revise everything and go take my exam or should I just give up🥺

I genuinely need help on this…Please if anyone can help me it will mean the world to me.

Vartika, you have come a long way - from 250 to 500. I would suggest you to relax and take the 11th October test with a positive frame of mind. It will give you a benchmark score in Quant and Verbal. You have another 200 points to go but you have already covered 250.

There is only one way to get the 700 - Unwavering commitment. Certainly, everything is not clear and there are gaps.
But for now, I would suggest you to not worry about any big changes since you are very close to your test date. Consider it a practice attempt and once you are back from the test, note down your experience - what went well, what kind of questions you struggled with etc. That will help you in your next attempt.
Thereafter, we can discuss what kind of strategy you may require for the additional 200 points.

Hello ma’am, So I took my exam and scored 400 and I also missed 5 quant questions.
I was facing major issues with time, I remember I was able to complete only 22 questions from quant and 23 questions from verbal rest I marked randomly.
I was also panicking because of the time….
I am planning to give my 3rd attempt in December end which is after 2.5 months.

I need your suggestions at this time, please help

Hello sir
I started preparing for my second attempt from March and I used give3-4 hrs everyday..I started everything from scratch.
I used Magoosh for quant and verbal, for mocks I used Manhattan and Official mocks in which my average score was 500 and for practice I used OG 18&12

In my 2nd attempt I scored 400 and I faced a lot of issues with time.....I wanted to apply for Round 1 but with this score I cannot get into my dream schools have 2-3 months for round 2 and I am willing to apply for the same.

Well Vartika, we know one thing at least - you have improved your score by 150 points and that is progress. I do understand that there is quite a bit to go if your target is 700.

I would suggest you to check whether your basic calculations are in place e.g. are you comfortable handling fractions? Say fraction divided by a fraction? Cross multiplying? Solving quadratics? etc. If yes, great. If not, you may want to check a high school Math book to revise this once before going forward. You must read a newspaper/magazine/any book for at least an hour every day.

Next, you need to go through a complete test prep program - from the basics. If you have access to one already, you can go through that. Even if you have reviewed that material before, there are many things you would have missed because of lack of comprehension. A second read will make a lot more sense.

Once you go through the concept books and videos etc properly, practice official questions. Once you are comfortable with about 80-90% of the OG questions in Quant and about 70% of the OG questions of Verbal, you know that your concepts are in place. Thereafter, you can start practicing the harder questions.

Consider using question/time markers for time management. If you've run out of Official-Mocks, retaking Official-Mock 1 if it's been a while may not be a bad idea.
