Hello gmatclub community. First time poster here, long time reader.
I am posting for the first time because I am in dire need of some advice. I have just been rejected from every school that I have applied to this year. Granted, they are some fantastic schools, but I have yet to even be waitlisted at a school, and I think my application is fairly decent. My stats are as follows:
750 GMAT
3.35 GPA at a top 50 school, finance major
3 years work experience in commercial lending
I have interviewed at Dartmouth, Duke, UNC (all self-initiated), and UT Austin (invitation). And then I was dinged without interview at Yale and HBS. I know that I am not delusional and that my essays and interviews were at least decent. Some, personally, I thought, were great. I kept them fairly conservative too as to not raise any red flags.
My guess now is that there are 1 of 2 things that are making schools immediately disqualify me.
1. Most of my recommendors were peers from internships or summer work instead of my former supervisors at my full time jobs.
2. This recently occurred to me- but I had to take a disciplinary course my senior year of undergrad because I once signed into a class and snuck out halfway through and was caught. However, this course does not appear on my transcript. Could schools somehow still be finding out about this and disqualifying me?
Also, I was hoping to call an admissions consultant for some free advice, but didn't know where to start.
Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide!
