Hi I am studying gmat full time right now and I'm studying 8 hours a day . How long is required to achieve a score of 720? Is 1-2 mths preparation sufficient? As you can see my verbal is really weak, during the mock test I get the first three sc wrong , something that I am really bad at. I breeze thru the cr section . Rc was ok as long as I understand the passage I could answer the questions. I could tell that sc was pulling down my verbal scores as most of my correct questions come from cr

Hi renguard,

The 700+ score is about the 90th percentile, meaning that 90% of Test Takers either can't or won't do what it takes to score at that level. That score range also makes it difficult to answer the 'how long does it take to get to that score?" question. Since a 700+ score will require that you deliver a strong performance in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections, you can't get to that goal with any major 'weaknesses' in the Verbal section. Raising a 550 to a 720 in 2 months is not impossible (we've had a number of Clients achieve that type of goal), it's just tough for many Test Takers to accomplish.

As an aside, you have to be careful about studying too much over a long period of time. You could probably study for 8 hours a day for a certain stretch of time, but doing so for too long increases the risk of 'burn out' (and ineffective studying).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
