Hi singh36x,

Based on your CAT results, your Verbal performance has been fairly consistent (+/- a few Verbal Scaled Score points that are likely due to lucky/unlucky guesses). The Q48 is an 'outlier' relative to your Quant Scaled Scores on your 2nd and 4th CATs - meaning that there's a pretty good chance that your current 'ability level' is right around 550. Statistically-speaking, raising a 550 to the point that you can consistently score 650+ will likely require at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. However, a 100+ point score improvement in just 2 weeks is likely too difficult to be considered realistic. There's no harm in taking the GMAT in 2 weeks (as Business Schools generally don't care if you take the GMAT more than once), but you could save some time, money and frustration if you push back your Test Date and give yourself more time to prepare.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) HHow many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What specific study materials have you used so far besides the recent course that you mentioned?

Goals:
3) From what you describe, it seems that your Score Goal is notably higher than 650. What is your actual overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thanks for the prompt reply ,
1.) on an average i spend 6 hours studying for the gmat of which , 3 hours are spend on practice and revision and the rest i spend on E-Gmat verbal course , i have finished the OG 20 , CR and RC from Verbal review and the Quant review 21 .
in the latest CAT :
- of the 36 questions in verbal i got 16. of them wrong : 4 CR / 9 RC / 3SC
- of the 31 questions in quant , i had 9 wrong : 2 Algebra / 4 geometry ( 2 coordinate geometry ) / 3 arithmetic ( number system and factorial ) { in the previous CAT i had the EXACT same number of wrong:correct but the score was 4 points higher }

As per the Egmat study plan recommended date is 1st december , i realise that Egmat is an intensive course and requires time , my question is should i be learning new techniques at this point or just continue to use the CR and RC method ive been usin and fine tune them for this attempt .

Not saying this will increase your score by 100 points but perhaps going over your past mistakes may help. Consider sticking closer and perhaps only with Official Material from now on.

Hi singh36x,

To start, I'm hoping that you can clarify a couple of details from your prior post:

1) Are you currently studying 6 hours each DAY or 6 hours each WEEK?
2) How long have you been using the current course that you mentioned?

Based on the information that you have provided, an early December Test Date would give you a far better chance of hitting your Goal Score than a Test Date in just 2 weeks would. To properly assess if you should change the study materials that you're using, it would make sense for you to take one more CAT (perhaps this weekend), so we can assess how well your current study routine is helping you to improve. Make sure to take a NEW CAT - and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, if you're going to take your GMAT at a Test Center, then wear a mask, etc.). Once you have that Score, you should report back here and we can discuss the results and how you might best proceed with your studies.

Hi Rich ,
as you suggested i've taken a full length CAT ( Gmat official test 5 ) at the exact same time of my appointment
and the scores are Q49 with a\( V20\) for a total of 570

i have had consistently dedicated 6 hours a day to my gmat prep and the V20 comes as a shock ; was expecting a minimum of a V25 , yet for the first time failed to complete the verbal section ( guessed on the last 5 questions ) .
the appointment is in 9 days from today ; any tips on how i can achieve a a minimum of a V25 for a total score > 620 ?
