Hello everyone,

I need a GMAT score of 600 to get into my preferred graduate program. For some 600 does not sound like a high score, but I am not a native english speaker.
I already studied for 7 weeks with the Manhatten Prep Line "All the GMAT" and the OG 2019. Two weeks ago, I did a first practice exam on the website from manhatten prep.
The results: Quant 41, Verbal: 28, Overall: 570.
Last saturday, I did a second one: Quant: 39, Verbal: 32, IR: 4.5 Overall: 590.

I would like to take the test in 2 weeks, so I could repeat it if necessary. Do you think it is possible to achieve 600 points in the actual GMAT? Because I heard the results from the practice exam can differ greatly.
Especially for the Quant section, I have difficulties to obtain a higher score and my time management is not the best.

I would appreciate any tips/ advice you guys might have to improve my score :) .

Hi Charly,

Considering you have only two weeks for the test, let me share my insights on what can be done to achieve a score of 600.

It would have been better if you had taken the official GMAT mocks because those are the most reliable ones. Anyway, looking at the individual breakdowns, I see there is a scope for improvement in both Quant and Verbal. But as you have only two weeks, it is better to focus on either Quant or Verbal. As you said, you are struggling mainly with Quant, let’s just stick to that. To get a score of 600, you should get the easy-medium questions right.

The good thing about GMAT quant is it tests only specific types of questions from each topic. Knowing how to solve those types of questions will help you score well on GMAT quant. It is also important to learn the right methodology to solve the questions. I suggest you to got through the concepts and make sure you get all the easy-medium questions right. This should ideally get you a score of 600. And time-management is one thing which most students suffer with. If you are struggling with DS questions, make sure you do a certain pre-analysis on the question stem before jumping into the statements. You can refer to the following video to understand the gist of the same. Hope it helped!
