Hi!

I'm taking the GMAT for a second time in three weeks.

I took it for the first time in march and got 660 (V39 Q42). When I practiced the first time I didn't take time under consideration at all which really hurt me especially during quant.

I started practicing again 1.5 months ago. First I went through foundations of Math then the manhattan prep books and then the OG and now the CATs and the quizzes here but my quant score doesn't seem to improve that much and it fluctuates a lot .

I just took my first official prep and got 710 (V41 Q47) which is good but it's something that isn't clicking when it comes to the quant part. I know that I'm especially bad when it comes to remainders, ratios, RTW, RTD, probability, combinatorics and geometry. I have read the "Ultimate GMAT Quantitative Mega thread" as well and it is very helpful but I don't know why it isn't sticking.

Is there something else that I should/can do?
What should I spend the last three weeks focusing? Going over past mistakes or my week areas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi helenafeworki,

Welcome to GMATCLUB! Given that you have around 3 weeks to improve, If you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

Lastly I would also encourage you to purchase GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Thank you for your response!

The quizzes and CATs that I am taking are the ones on GMATclub but they don't seem to help that much when it comes to my weak areas and I do already have a subscription.

But I will definitely look into Veritas Prep!
