Hey everyone!
It has been four months since I last went to this forum. I would really like to get everyone's opinion if my plans below on aceing the GMAT would be enough.
I took the GMAT for the first time last November 13, 2004. Unfortunately, i got a grade of 400++, which was obviously terrible.
I would like to take the GMAT again sometime this July 2005. These are what I plan to do, which I hope you guys can comment on:
1. Review Kaplan GMAT Lesson Book 2004 in detail
- I took the Kaplan GMAT Course last September 2004 and I guess this would be the best start for me in reviewing for the test. I plan to do all the questions again and see where I got wrong and how I can improve.
2. Take lessons with a GMAT tutor
- I personally feel I need help from someone on certain strategies to better hack the quantitative and verbal questions.
3. Purchase GMAT 800, 2005 - 2006 and OG 11th edition
- I plan to purchase these two books because I believe that these will help me improve my performance. However, have two problems here:
a) Is Kaplan GMAT 800, 2005 - 2006 a very good book that I can read from cover and cover and that would be more than enough for me to prepare myself well?
b) If the OG 11th ed will only be out in summer 2005, do I still have enough time to prepare for a July 2005 set date?
Guys, I really hope you all can help me on this.
I want to take the test before 2006 because I am afraid that if I take it next year, my Kaplan GMAT Classroom Course and my purchase of both the OG 11th edition and the Kaplan GMAT 800, 2005 - 2006 ed would all be put to waste since drastic changes will be made right? I am not exactly clear of the transition changes in the GMAT so to be safe, I want to take the GMAT ASAP!!
