Hi everyone,
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been admitted to the MSc Finance program at WHU and the MSc Management | Finance track at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. However, I’m facing a tough decision and could really use some insights from this community to make the right choice.
Here’s my situation:
About Me:
• Aspiring to build a career in investment banking (preferably M&A or private equity) in Europe, with a focus on landing a role at a top-tier bank like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, or Morgan Stanley.
• Strong background in finance and consulting, with experience in Transfer Pricing and financial analysis.
• I value hands-on experience, strong alumni networks, and opportunities to secure internships during the program.
My Dilemma:
WHU seems like the obvious choice for a career in finance due to its niche focus and reputation. However, HHL’s strong entrepreneurial focus and flexibility make it equally compelling. I want to make sure I’m choosing the program that maximizes my chances of securing a top investment banking role while also offering a great student experience.
If you’ve attended either school or have insights into the programs, I’d love to hear your thoughts:
1. Which program would you recommend for someone targeting a career in investment banking in Europe?
2. How do the alumni networks and career services compare between the two?
3. Are there any hidden aspects or opportunities at either school that I should consider?
Thanks in advance for your help! Your insights will be invaluable in making this decision.
Cheers,
