Thank you for your replies ....Seeing your suggestions ..best for me to first give the exam first and then do the research.. But some of my seniors advised me to first do some research and prepare for the exam ..Probably since they have sufficient work exp they are more aware of the schools which suit them...

At this moment your primary goal should be to get the best out of Gmat. I do not know why people always advice to research first and then give GMAT. They argue that you should have a target in mind? Give your best shot at Gmat and try to score as much as you can.
After that do the research and try to apply with the score. Let the college decide whether you need to retake.(assuming you would score well).
