Hi all,

I just noticed that I made a stupid mistake in my resume saying I saved the company $100mn instead of $100K. Really sucks to find that, but worse would be if they are impressed and let me interview based on that. I don't think that would be fair at all.

Should I contact admissions to let them know about this horrific mistake? Or will they understand that it's a typo? It doesn't really fit in with all the other small (emerging market amounts).

Did you apply for the 27 February deadline?

If so, I think that they would appreciate your reaching out to correct this, particularly because they're unlikely to be too deep into reading applications. If you're the type of person that understands that this minor point is important, then you're likely the type of person that they want at their school :)

Thanks ! I don't quite understand the "just don't make it as effortless for admissions to update", would you mind clarifying?

I did end up emailing them, and I told them that I wouldn't have emailed them just for a typo unless I believed that it ran the risk of unfairly making me a more attractive candidate, so felt I owed it to the admission committee and other candidates alike.

Even if I made the wrong move admissions wise, at least I made the right move ethically.

That is a great way to do it. I meant to not pester the admissions office or insist that they replace your resume or error (sorry should have been "just make it effortless for admissions to update"). Well done leu07vk!
