Hello, I have been studying on and off for the gmat and have not been able to land a decent score. My score shave been 520, 520 and 550. All with low 40's in quant and low 20's in verbal. I have spent a lot time and money on this and I cant land a good score. I have tried manhattan books, veritas prep gmatclub forums everthing....
I studied a lot but my sense is that I havent been studying "smartly", I spend tons of time reading over notes, doing a lot of problems etc... doing exams.
I recently purchased a 24 hour private tutoring package at Veritas, and hope to see if this time I can pull if off.
I guess my question to the community is what recommendations do you guys have on studying productively? I know that just spending tons of times studying will not do the trick. Also, any recommendations on how to take get the most out of my private tutoring hours? Should I take all the hours in two months, or spread it out over three months?

I am sorry to say this but it is probably due to taking such a long time and stretching out your prep....
I can hardly remember what I did a year ago, let alone 2 or 3. The best strategy seems to be a high power "surge" prep style where you knock it out in sub-4 months.

Hi oloman,
You ask a number of good questions, but since you've already invested in a tutor, then you'd probably want to ask your tutor about all of this. I wouldn't want to put you into a position in which you're trying to decide who's advice to follow (as that might make the tutor's job more difficult).
You should take advantage of the Forums to post any Quant and Verbal questions that give you trouble - you'll find plenty of helpful explanations (about the content, tactics, etc.) that you can use to improve.
