Hi,
So I did the GMAT prep for first ever time with no studying whatsoever and got a 570. I then practised, and got a 640 in the next prep test. On the actual exam I got a 570!!
So I'm now retaking, and studying harder.
Kaptest 630
GMATprep test1 710!!! ?
MGMAT 720 with 99%ile verbal
GMATprep test 2: 610!
This does not help settle the nerves (my exam is on Monday :/ and need a 600 to get into b-school)! I'm not sure how to get my scoring constant. I think the knowledge is there, its getting it across on the test thats my issue.
Firstly, know the reason behind varied results.
1. 710 on GmatPrep (is this coz you've already taken this test once)? In such a case it's not even close to your actual figures on test day.
2. gmat prep2 1st attempt 640 and second attempt 610 makes some sense as there the range is little.
However, if you are worried about your Monday's exam, here's a quick tip.
Stop doing tests. They are no good and seems to make you nervous. Instead, practice completely one section which you are worst at.
This is because you don't have enough time to improve in every section. Even if you put all your effort in a distributed way, the improvement would be distributed among your stronger sections also (which is not wise at this point). So, if you concentrate on your weakest section and gain a 10% advantage, the progress you'd make would be exponential rather than linear.
Don't bother about time and just concentrate on accuracy. This will not only improve your accuracy, but also your confidence as you get more and more questions right.Believe me, accuracy better than speed (at least for the score range you are aiming for).
Finally, Stop worrying buddy. Have confidence in yourself and keep your calm and when you are in your hot seat, let nothing else distract you.
Best Wishes,
Midhun.
Don't forget to gimme kudos if this helps
